Kintbury 2007
In 2007, the Fellowship weekend was held in Kintbury, near Newbury, at the St Cassian's Centre. For the first time, we opened it up to people from further afield, not just the Newbury area. About 70 people came together for a wonderful weekend of fellowship and Bible study.
The theme for 2007 was 'Warfare and Welfare'. We considered Bible teachings on warfare and the spiritual war against sin we now have to fight. We even had a presentation from a 'Roman Soldier' who showed us the armour Roman soldiers would have worn, told us about their life and linked it all through to the apostle Paul's teachings on the Armour of God in Ephesians 6. We also looked at welfare and talked about how to improve our relationships with our family and friends and within the church.
The activities included studies, discussions groups/workshop sessions and singing praise. There was also time for a walk in the beautiful grounds and some sport to let off a bit of steam. We had a really spiritually uplifting time together and it was a great opportunity to get to know everyone a bit better and relax together. God willing, we plan to hold another fellowship weekend in Kintbury in September 2008.
