Slimbridge 2005
This was the last year we had at the Youth Hostel in Slimbridge and we took for our theme, "Speaking to one another in Psalms..." Seems an odd phrase but it comes from one of the letters the apostle Paul wrote. The whole quote is "be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" Which we took to mean encouraging each other through the words of the hymn book of the Old Testament, the Psalms and through music.
In our workshops we not only put music to the words of particular Psalms but pictures too. Here are a few of the photographs. Look up the Psalms they refer to and find why they were taken.
Four of the people who came chose a favorite Psalm to talk about and two more workshops looked at putting the Psalms into practice and using them to inspire our prayers - learning from the prophet Jonah and Jesus' mother Mary as they did this.
